Richard
grew up in a quiet suburban town outside of Pittsburgh,
PA. He attended The Citadel, a military college
located in Charleston, South Carolina, from where
he graduated in 1986 with a B.S. degree in Civil
Engineering.
He went on to serve with a municipal police department
for the next 15 years, engaging in all aspects of
law enforcement and government administration. In
addition to typical police requirements, his duties
also included preparing and administering their
annual multimillion dollar budget, computer systems
administrator, technology implementation leader
and managing the department’s purchasing and
procurement section. Simultaneously, he started
Almes Productions in 1989.
In 2001, he left law enforcement as a Lieutenant
and went full-time with Almes Productions. His many
years of gritty life and death experiences in police
work have provided him with a unique insight into
bringing drama to the screen in a realistic and
believable manner.
Since 1989, Almes Productions has been a full-service
multimedia production company and has been providing
comprehensive production solutions to various clients
in the Southeast. Almes is able to offer a wide
variety of services to an even wider variety of
clients. Richard believes in collaboration with
the ‘best of the best’ in talent and
production crew.
He excels at the pre-production, production and
post-production processes. He is very comfortable
managing the various logistical tasks involved in
pre-production along with all conceptual work. He
finds on-location production challenging, but considers
post-production the most rewarding because of the
instant feedback the process allows.
Richard has also had great success working on high-impact
and emotional videos designed for non-profit’s
"Raising More Money" campaigns. To date,
his efforts have helped several organizations raise
over seven million dollars.
